Registered Nurse Opportunity in Emergency Department

We are seeking a motivated Registered Nurse with a dedication for delivering compassionate patient care to join our team in the Emergency department at Mills Memorial Hospital.
As a Registered Nurse in our Emergency department, you will provide and coordinate nursing care with current standards of nursing practice and the Clinical Specialty of Critical Care & Emergency Care Nursing. You will work independently in Emergency and have clinical experience to provide safe and competent emergency nursing care.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide and coordinate nursing care with current standards of nursing practice and the Clinical Specialty of Critical Care & Emergency Care Nursing.
• Work independently in Emergency and have clinical experience to provide safe and competent emergency nursing care.
• Participate in the Northern Health Regional Emergency Department Education Program (REDEP) which includes a standardized, evidence-informed online curriculum, skills/simulation lab, and clinical practicum to prepare registered nurses to provide safe and competent emergency nursing care.
• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide high-quality patient care and education.
Requirements:
• Current BLS certification within a year is mandatory prior to the skills/simulation lab.
• Preference for participants who have completed an electrocardiogram (ECG) course prior to beginning REDEP.
• Prior experience on an acute care ward (medical/surgical) is preferred.
• Applicants must successfully complete the education program prior to working in the department.
• Upon successful completion of the education program, Northern Health requires an 18-month return of service in a regular position in the area of nursing applicable to the education program.
