Physician Opportunity in Correctional Health

We are seeking a skilled Family Practitioner to join our team at the Nanaimo Correctional Centre. As a Family Physician, you will play a vital role in providing primary health care and mental health support to clients in correctional facilities.
Key Responsibilities- Provide comprehensive primary health care services to clients, including medical assessments, diagnoses, and treatment plans
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans
- Conduct mental health and substance use assessments and provide appropriate interventions
- Participate in multidisciplinary teams to improve access to healthcare services and support client reintegration into the community
- Eligible for provisional or full licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of British Columbia
- Certification with the College of Family Physicians of Canada or equivalent is mandatory
- Experience working with patients with complex mental health and substance use issues is an asset
