Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Physiotherapist to join our team at the Selkirk Mental Health Centre. As a Physiotherapist, you will be responsible for providing physical therapy treatment and programming for patients with psychiatric illness, physical disabilities, and/or acquired brain injury.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate physical therapy strategies/interventions to promote the rehabilitation of patients.
  • Supervise volunteers/students working with you and provide regular instruction, support, coaching, and professional leadership.
  • Provide functional supervision to PNAs and Activity Instructors implementing therapy strategies.
  • Collaborate with other disciplines to provide comprehensive patient care.
Requirements
  • Entry-to-practice academic credential in physiotherapy from an accredited Canadian university program or the approved equivalent if internationally educated.
  • Registration on the Active Practice Register of the College of Physiotherapists of Manitoba.
  • Membership with the Canadian Physiotherapy Association preferred.
  • Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Training requirements for this position shall be in accordance with the Employer policy.

This position requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and to adapt to new concepts, techniques, and best practices in the field of healthcare. The successful candidate will be required to work evenings or weekends and may be required to occasionally work extended hours.
