Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Physiotherapist to join our team at the Winnipeg Regional Health Authority. As a Physiotherapist, you will be responsible for providing physical therapy treatment and programming for patients at the Selkirk Mental Health Centre.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate physical therapy strategies/interventions to promote the rehabilitation of patients with psychiatric illness, physical disabilities, and/or acquired brain injury.
  • Supervise volunteers/students working with you and provide regular instruction, support, coaching, and professional leadership to patient/staff/families implementing physical therapy strategies/interventions.
  • Provide functional supervision to Personal Care Assistants (PCAs) and Activity Instructors implementing therapy strategies.
Requirements
  • Recent and relevant clinical experience preferred.
  • Experience working in the field of Acquired Brain Injury an asset.
  • Entry-to-practice academic credential in physiotherapy from an accredited Canadian university program or the approved equivalent if internationally educated.
  • Registration on the Active Practice Register of the College of Physiotherapists of Manitoba.
  • Membership with the Canadian Physiotherapy Association preferred.
Working Conditions
  • Must be able to stand or walk for extended periods of time without resting.
  • Must demonstrate the use of safe and effective body mechanics while working with clients.
  • Must be able to safely transfer large and/or heavy clients who may have limited or no weight bearing capabilities.
