Care Attendant

Join Seasons Retirement Communities as a Memory Care Attendant and make a meaningful difference in the lives of our residents. As a key member of our care team, you will provide exceptional care, nurture relationships, and ensure the safety and well-being of our residents in their home.
Responsibilities:- Provide person-centered care services to residents with dementia/cognitive impairment, ensuring professionalism, dignity, and compassion in every interaction.
- Follow infection control measures to enhance the safety and well-being of residents and staff.
- Assist with activity programs, housekeeping tasks, and laundry as assigned.
- Respond to resident medical/physical/emotional needs with collaboration from the Memory Care Manager/Health and Wellness Manager.
- Perform set-up, serving, and tear-down services for daily meal services, and assist residents with walking to and from the dining room and eating.
- Promote and support a person-centered approach to care and maintain effective interpersonal relationships with residents and co-workers.
- Complete all necessary education requirements in a timely manner as required.
- All other duties as assigned.
- Covid-19 vaccination is mandatory.
- Current First Aid and CPR certification.
- Current Safe Food Handler's certification.
- Enrolled in the Alberta Health Care Aide (HCA) Directory (applicable to Alberta applicants only).
- Empathy and compassion for the needs of the elderly, with a specific focus on individuals with Alzheimer's and Dementia.
- Ability to communicate effectively following written and verbal instructions.
- Strong ability to organize and prioritize workload throughout scheduled shifts.
- Ability to exercise tact and diplomacy in dealing with residents, team members, and guests.
- Knowledge of medical equipment is considered an asset (blood pressure machine, oximeter, glucometer- and/or the ability to learn these skills with training).
- Previous experience providing personal care in a healthcare environment is preferred.
All applicants must be legally entitled to work in Canada. As a condition of employment, a Criminal Record Search which may include a vulnerable sector screen, will be required.
