About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Dental Assistant to join our team at HTL Dental. As a key member of our dental team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our practice.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare patients for dental examinations and ensure they are comfortable and relaxed throughout the process.
  • Prepare plaster models and moulds for dental procedures, using your attention to detail and hand-eye coordination skills.
  • Order dental and office supplies to maintain a well-stocked and efficient practice.
  • Prepare dental instruments and filling materials for procedures, adhering to strict hygiene and safety protocols.
  • Maintain and order supplies to ensure the practice runs smoothly and efficiently.
  • Perform reception and clerical duties, including scheduling appointments and confirming patient details.
  • Sterilize and maintain instruments and equipment to prevent cross-contamination and ensure patient safety.
  • Educate patients concerning oral hygiene and provide guidance on maintaining good oral health.
  • Prepare wax bite-blocks and impression trays for dental procedures, using your technical expertise and attention to detail.
  • Schedule and confirm appointments to ensure smooth patient flow and minimize wait times.
  • Pack plastic material in moulds to form full or partial dentures, using your technical skills and attention to detail.
  • Take and develop X-rays to aid in dental diagnosis and treatment planning.
  • Record dental procedures performed on patients to maintain accurate records and ensure continuity of care.
  • Invoice patients for dental services in a timely and professional manner.
  • Polish and buff dentures to ensure a high-quality finish and patient satisfaction.
Certifications and Qualifications
  • Healing Arts Radiation Protection (HARP) Certification to ensure compliance with radiation safety protocols.
Technical Expertise
  • Plastering and moulding techniques to create accurate dental models.
  • Packing and preparing dental materials for procedures.
  • Waxing-up and preparing dental models for procedures.
  • Polishing and buffing dentures to a high shine.
  • Assembly of dental instruments and equipment.
Computer and Technology Skills
  • MS Excel for data analysis and record-keeping.
  • MS Outlook for email management and communication.
  • MS Windows for operating the practice's computer systems.
  • MS Word for document creation and editing.
Work Environment and Physical Demands
  • Fast-paced environment with a high level of patient interaction.
  • Attention to detail and hand-eye coordination skills to perform procedures accurately.
