Job Title: Security Specialist – Senior

We are currently seeking a highly motivated and skilled Security Specialist – Senior for one of our clients. As a Security Specialist, you will be responsible for taking a subject matter expert role in various security risk management initiatives and providing security expertise, facilitating collaboration, and performing Risk Assessment for various projects/products/applications and services within Ontario Health and external vendors using NIST CSF.

Responsibilities:

  • Take a leading role in various security risk management initiatives and provide security expertise to ensure the implementation of recommended security policies and related controls.
  • Present relevant security materials to product and digital solution groups, ensuring alignment with industry standards (ISO 27001/27002, NIST, CIS, COBIT).
  • Consult with members and teams in Ontario Health to implement recommended security policies and related controls, track the security control implementation, and work through Risk Treatment plans.
  • Coordinate internal and external information security initiatives as a subject matter expert to reach feasible security solutions across the health care sector.
  • Implement tools and processes to manage workflow and materials related to information security risk management, ensuring deep knowledge of methodologies, frameworks, and processes in the Information Security domain.
  • Experience in conducting Threat Risk Assessments using various Frameworks/Methodologies/Standards such as NIST/HTRA/ISO, and generating risk maps to guide risk owners and keep stakeholders informed.

About the Job

This is a long-term contract position located in Toronto, Ontario, offering up to 3 days a week onsite. Public Sector Experience is not required, but candidates should have at least 5+ years' experience in various security domains, including third-party risk management, IT audits, and/or Security Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC), with knowledge of prevalent industry standards.
