Job Summary

As a Traffic Control Specialist - Infrastructure Management with Ferrovial, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and efficient movement of traffic on provincial highways. Your primary responsibility will be to respond to incidents, including traffic accidents, spills, and emergency situations, and to assist provincial and local police and emergency response services as needed.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as a liaison between provincial and local police, fire, and emergency responders during incident management
  • Communicate with the Ministry of Transportation Traffic Operations Centre via radio and telephone to provide updates on incidents
  • Complete incident reports and coordinate detour routes in the event of an asset closure
  • Conduct follow-up investigations on fatalities to determine if facilities contributed to the accident
  • Track and maintain files on major incidents and accidents involving assets, personnel, and equipment
  • Assist with third-party claims by gathering documentation and other relevant information
  • Coordinate special events involving traffic control, detours, and/or closures
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • High School Diploma required
  • Minimum 2+ years' experience in highway maintenance operations, freeway traffic control, and incident/accident management
  • Valid Class DZ driver's license with a good driving record
  • OTM BOOK 7 certification required

Working Conditions

While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be exposed to outside weather conditions, including extreme heat and cold. The employee may also be exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, high precarious places, fume or airborne particles, and occasional exposure to toxic or caustic chemicals.
