We are seeking a highly skilled content expert/curriculum developer to join our team at Thompson Rivers University, Open Learning (TRU-OL). The successful candidate will be responsible for revising and developing content for PSYC 4281: Psychology Capstone.
About the RoleThis is a unique opportunity to contribute to the development of an online continuous entry course that focuses on integrating and applying knowledge and skills acquired during a degree program in psychology. As a content expert/curriculum developer, you will work closely with the Instructional Designer and the course development team to ensure that the course meets the learning outcomes and standards of TRU.
Key Responsibilities- Participate in brainstorming and planning sessions to develop a detailed course planning document.
- Develop and revise content, including learning activities and assessments, to ensure relevance and appropriateness for an online continuous entry course.
- Create multimedia or other active learning activities to enhance student engagement through experiential learning.
- Choose effective and appropriate resources, prioritizing low-cost and accessible options such as Open Educational Resources (OERs), TRU's e-Library collection, and article databases.
- Accurately cite sources and identify third-party material requiring copyright clearance.
- FOLLOW THE GUIDANCE OF THE INSTRUCTIONAL DESIGNER ON THE INCORPORATION OF ANY AI-GENERATED CONTENT.
- PhD in Psychology required.
- Demonstration of current and ongoing engagement in the course subject matter through research and/or the scholarship of teaching.
- Recent and substantial experience in psychology.
- Demonstrated ability to write in a clear and consistent style with grammatical accuracy.
- Ability to meet deadlines.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and consultatively.
- Experience or training in facilitating online instruction is an asset.
The successful candidate will be selected based on their ability to meet the selection criteria. A cover letter detailing how you meet the requirements, CV/resume, copies of transcripts, and a writing sample should be submitted via the online application system.
Estimated SalaryThe estimated salary for this position is $75,000 - $90,000 per year, depending on qualifications and experience.
