We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Regional Fleet Manager to join our team at Manitoulin Group of Companies. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for the overall management and performance of our maintenance facilities in Pointe-Claire and Baie Comeau.
Key Responsibilities:- Oversee a team of mechanics and ensure the timely and efficient repair and maintenance of our trucking fleet.
- Manage budgets, implement preventive maintenance programs, and enforce safety standards.
- Collaborate with other departments to minimize downtime, optimize vehicle performance, and support the company's transportation operations.
- Delegate and direct service tasks, monitor project progress, and manage the service team to ensure objectives and goals are met.
- Audit vendor invoices, ensure job estimates are accurate, and manage warranty or goodwill requirements.
- Work closely with staff, evaluate productivity and efficiency, and monitor issues and complaints to create methods to lessen recurring issues.
- Maintain strong relationships with manufacturers, dealers, and 3rd party vendors.
- Help train new employees in company procedures and maintain a strong working knowledge of industry regulations, restrictions, and laws.
- Work closely with local and remote operation teams, schedule equipment for service and repairs, and provide guidance and approval to the maintenance team and Afterhours Breakdown Coordinators.
- Experience working in a Fleet environment with management experience.
- Heavy Truck and Coach mechanic license (310T) preferred or College Degree in Business with heavy truck mechanical working knowledge.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and customer service skills.
- Excellent computer skills, including word and excel.
- P&L and budget responsibility.
- Strong industry knowledge.
- Good organizational skills.
- Strong creative thinking and problem-solving.
- The ability to work under pressure and handle stress.
- Must be bilingual in English/French.
- The ability to travel.
