Employee Relations Manager

As an Employee Relations Manager at Scotiabank, you will play a key role in contributing to the overall success of the Employee Relations (ER) and Labour Relations (LR) business strategy and objectives.
Key Responsibilities:- Championing a customer-focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems, and knowledge.
- Independently managing cases and ensuring all activities are conducted in compliance with governing regulations, Bank policies, and processes.
- Acting as a subject matter expert and providing value-added advice and coaching on employment-related issues to employees, People Managers, and HR Business Partners.
- Conducting formal investigations into allegations of serious misconduct, both independently and/or in collaboration with the Employment Law Group and Corporate Security.
- Leading employee interviews and analyzing the facts of situations; writing investigative reports and presenting findings and recommendations to Senior Leadership.
- Working in collaboration with HR Business Partners to plan the end-to-end delivery of strategic initiatives and identifying trends to contribute to the HR strategy.
- Promoting a seamless and consistent experience for employees and People Managers with ER/LR issues and concerns; updating and maintaining accurate information in the ER/LR case file.
- Understanding the Bank's risk appetite and risk culture in day-to-day activities and decisions, ensuring teams meet obligations while respecting operational risk, regulatory compliance risk, AML/ATF risk, and conduct risk.
- Relationship-focused, highly collaborative, and results-oriented with the ability to pivot with ease between priorities.
- A desire to lead people to be their best or similar leadership criteria.
- An interviewing and/or consultative background would be a strong asset.
