Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced IT Administrator to join our team at Gibraltar Mines Limited. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, configuring, and supporting site hardware and systems, as well as maintaining and troubleshooting physical and wireless networking.

Key Responsibilities
  • Install, configure, and support site hardware and systems, including Windows server systems, site firewalls and network devices, Windows client workstations and laptops, printers, plotters, and copiers.
  • Design, maintain, and troubleshoot physical and wireless networking, including Ethernet, fibre, and WiFi connections.
  • Maintain, monitor, and enhance site security infrastructure, ensuring systems are secure and protected against cyber threats.
  • Configure and maintain remote access and underlying security provisions.
  • Maintain communications systems, including VOIP systems and mobile phones.
  • Support site surveillance systems.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Configure and support Active Directory Environments, including Group policy, DNS, and DHCP services, adding and removing users and devices.
  • Configure and support Virtual Server Environments and storage.
  • Maintain backups and restore data.
  • Monitor network performance, identify, and resolve issues.
  • Install software updates and patches.
  • Support Enterprise Asset Management Software.
  • Maintain and support communication links between various OT and IT networks.
  • Write procedures and various technical documents.
  • Provide technical support and training to users.
Requirements
  • 5+ years' experience in the IT Field.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential; must have the ability to communicate effectively with users of varying degrees of computer knowledge.
  • Completion of a technical writing course focused on IT.
  • Must have the ability to work well under pressure and be able to work alone with minimal supervision.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft operating systems and applications, including Windows 10/11 and Office 365.
  • In-depth experience configuring and administering server operating systems and applications, including Microsoft Server, Microsoft Exchange, and SQL Servers.
  • Experience configuring and supporting Microsoft 365, including Teams, SharePoint, and Azure Active Directory.
  • Experience installing and supporting Ethernet and wireless networks for local and remote connectivity.
  • Experience working with NAS and Virtual Environments.
  • Experience working with industrial control systems.
Education
  • Diploma or bachelor's degree in Computer Systems or equivalent certifications.
Location

Williams Lake, BC, or the surrounding area.
