Lead Carpenter Job Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Lead Carpenter to join our team at Archadeck of Nova Scotia. As a Lead Carpenter, you will be responsible for leading our carpentry crews and working with trade subcontractors to deliver high-quality construction projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead job sites with carpenters and work with trade subcontractors to ensure successful project completion.
  • Train, mentor, and facilitate the development of more junior carpenters to enhance their skills and knowledge.
  • Work on-site on the tools full-time, ensuring efficient and profitable use of company resources.
  • Seek additional responsibilities and mentorship from management employees to develop existing skills, learn new skills, and build potential for advancement within the company.
  • Be a safety leader, adhering to and sponsoring safety rules, procedures, and protocols.
  • Work as a front-line leader in achieving company goals, responsible for the efficient and profitable use of the company's time, skilled labor, and materials on each project.
  • Focus on product quality and good customer service, ensuring customer satisfaction and loyalty.
  • Read and understand construction drawings, providing regular feedback and updates on project progress through proper company channels.
  • Participate in pre-construction meetings and job site inspections to ensure project success.
Requirements:
  • Minimum 10 years of carpentry experience, with prior experience training carpenters in a leadership role.
  • Red Seal certification is a plus.
  • Proven track record of successfully leading smaller to mid-size construction projects.
  • Extensive rough and finish carpentry skills, outstanding knowledge of construction methods and techniques.
  • Good understanding of related building trades.
  • Must have basic hand and power tools.
  • Valid Class 5 Driver's License with a clean record.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Outstanding attention to detail, adaptable, and able to prioritize demands efficiently and effectively.
  • Adept problem-solving abilities.
