About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Carpenter Lead Hand to join our team at BG Custom Homes Limited. As a key member of our construction team, you will be responsible for overseeing the installation of various building components, including wood, wood substitutes, and other materials.

Key Responsibilities
  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and sketches to determine work requirements
  • Prepare layouts and ensure compliance with building codes using measuring tools
  • Measure, cut, shape, assemble, and join materials for various construction projects
  • Supervise and coordinate work on sites, ensuring timely completion of tasks
  • Train and instruct apprentices in carpentry techniques and best practices
  • Maintain, repair, and renovate residential and commercial structures, including wooden structures in mills, mines, hospitals, and industrial plants
Requirements
  • 5+ years of experience in carpentry, with a focus on lead or supervisory roles
  • Carpenter Trade Certification and Red Seal Certificate
  • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) training and Working at Heights certification
  • First Aid and CPR certification
  • Valid driver's license and own vehicle
