About the Role:

Giant Tiger is seeking a highly skilled Merchandise Financial Planning Manager to join our team. As a key member of our Merchandise Financial Planning team, you will be responsible for developing and executing financial plans that support our short- and long-term merchandising strategy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute annual financial plans that optimize sales, gross margin, and inventory levels.
  • Lead a team of Merchandise Financial Planners in the execution of financial strategies and provide guidance on current business performance.
  • Collaborate with Merchants, Supply Chain, Replenishment, and Store Operations partners to identify issues, risks, and opportunities to financial plans.
  • Provide visibility to Senior Leadership Team on current business results, risks, and opportunities.
  • Develop and maintain planning tools such as TM1 and the e-markdown system to support the needs of the team and business.

Requirements:

  • Post-secondary education in Business or a related field.
  • 5-8 years of experience in the retail industry, preferably with a national retailer.
  • 3-5 years of people management experience.
  • Extensive knowledge of retail Merchandise Financial Planning process and metrics.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify trends, make recommendations, and problem-solve.
  • Strong ability to communicate effectively, interact, and build relationships across all levels of the organization and with key partners.
  • Strong management skills (coaching, development, and training skills) that build effective teams.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and strong knowledge of Microsoft Office suite of products.
