Job Title: Assistant Professor in Applied Mathematics

We are seeking a highly qualified and motivated Assistant Professor in Applied Mathematics to join our faculty. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching undergraduate and graduate mathematics courses, developing a research program, and contributing to the department's academic and administrative activities.

Responsibilities:
  • Teach mathematics courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels, including first-year mathematics courses to large groups.
  • Develop a high-quality research program and pursue publication activities.
  • Apply for funding from major granting agencies.
  • Participate in the dissemination of knowledge and in the outreach of the University through conferences and scientific activities.
  • Contribute to the operation and development of the Department, the Faculty of Arts and Science, and the Université de Montréal.
Requirements:
  • Hold a Ph.D. in Mathematics or in another related field. Priority will be given to candidates with expertise in Applied Mathematics.
  • A strong research and publication record.
  • Demonstrated ability or potential to work in the development of teaching first-year undergraduate courses in mathematics.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide high-quality university teaching at all levels, including first-year undergraduate courses in mathematics.
  • Interest and ability to work collaboratively and as part of a team with the department's teaching staff.
  • An adequate knowledge of the written and spoken French language or a strong commitment to mastering the proficiency level required, in accordance with Université de Montréal's Language Policy.
