Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Transportation Supervisor to join our team at Northwest Carrier Ltd. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our transportation services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate Activities: Co-ordinate activities with other work units or departments to ensure seamless execution of transportation services.
  • Reporting and Documentation: Prepare and submit reports to management on transportation operations, including metrics on efficiency and productivity.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Ensure the smooth operation of computer equipment and machinery used in transportation services.
  • Staff Management: Recruit, hire, train, and manage a team of transportation staff to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties.
  • Logistics Planning: Plan, organize, and oversee the operational logistics of transportation services, including scheduling and resource allocation.
  • Problem-Solving: Resolve work problems, provide technical advice, and recommend measures to improve productivity and product quality.
Requirements
  • Education: College/CEGEP diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a transportation or logistics role.
  • Computer and Technology Knowledge: Proficient in MS Word and other relevant software.
  • Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, under pressure, with tight deadlines, and with attention to detail.
  • Weight Handling: Ability to lift up to 9 kg (20 lbs).
  • Personal Suitability: Accurate, flexible, initiative, judgement, organized, reliable, and a team player.
