Director, Talent Acquisition

About the Role:

Sun Life Financial is seeking a seasoned Talent Acquisition leader to join our team. As a Director, Talent Acquisition, you will be responsible for leading our talent acquisition function in Canada, driving change through innovative ideas, leveraging technology, and metrics to find and hire top talent.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives to drive efficiencies and amazing candidate experiences.
  • Design and implement talent acquisition strategies to source, attract, hire, and redeploy talent to address organizational needs.
  • Leverage root cause analysis skills to review and analyze weekly recruitment metrics to identify areas of strength and opportunities.
  • Manage the operation by leveraging KPIs and coaching the team to drive time and process efficiencies while balancing great candidate and hiring manager experiences.

Requirements:

  • 10+ years of experience in Human Resources, preferably leading and managing a talent acquisition function in a large matrixed organization.
  • Managing remote teams in multiple locations.
  • Experience leading the adoption of change initiatives, adoption of technology, and building up consulting skills.
  • Experience managing teams by leveraging metrics and KPIs.
  • Demonstrated team leadership and people management, hands-on coaching and mentoring experience.
  • Expertise in talent acquisition best practices with an ability to adapt practices based on environmental considerations.
  • Demonstrated consultative, interpersonal, and project management skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to produce quality work in a collaborative, fast-paced matrixed environment, balancing high production with the delivery of long-term objectives.
  • Knowledge of current talent trends and market intelligence.
  • Lean management experience/continuous improvement mindset.

  • BA/BS degree in Human Resources, business administration, or related field.
