Keats Island Construction and Services LTD is looking for an exceptional Carpenter to join our team. As a Carpenter, you will be responsible for preparing estimates, reading blueprints, and measuring and cutting materials to build foundations, install windows and doors, and supervise workers. You will also estimate costs and materials, and maintain and repair residences and wooden structures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare detailed estimates of labour and material costs
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and sketches to determine work requirements
- Measure and cut materials to precise specifications
- Assemble and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, and other materials
- Prepare and submit tenders and quotations
- Build foundations, install floor beams, and lay subflooring
- Install windows, doors, stairs, mouldings, and hardware
- Schedule and coordinate work on sites
- Survey building locations and levels
- Instruct and train apprentices
- Supervise and manage a team of workers
- Estimate costs and materials for projects
- Operate computer-aided design (CAD) software and other computer systems
- Maintain, repair, and renovate residences and wooden structures
Work Conditions:
