Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Clerical - Casual/on call to join our team at School District #22 (Vernon). As a casual clerical staff member, you will provide administrative support to various departments and teams within the district.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide general clerical duties, including data entry, word processing, and filing.
- Communicate effectively with staff, students, and the public, responding to inquiries and providing general information.
- Perform basic accounting tasks, including receiving and processing monies and preparing bank deposits.
- Work as a Secretary, School Secretary, Library Clerk, or Receptionist, depending on the nature of the assignment.
Requirements:
- Post-secondary Office or Business Administration certificate.
- Basic accounting courses (equivalent to Okanagan College BAC 11 and BAC 12).
- Two years of relevant work experience is preferred.
- Typing 40wpm.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Well-developed interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
- Proven organization skills and the ability to work independently.
What We Offer:
This is a union position, CUPE Local 5523. The rate of pay is dependent upon the position that you are replacing. While all applicants will be considered, preference will be given to qualified applicants who self-declare Indigenous ancestry.
