Job Responsibilities:- Provide scientific expertise for exhibition and program content development
- Lead discussions on thematic and scientific content for exhibitions and projects
- Ensure the overall coherence, accuracy, and effectiveness of scientific communication in projects
- Serve as a scientific resource to staff and the public
- Expertise in one or more scientific disciplines, such as biology, chemistry, physics, engineering, geology, or equivalent, and Indigenous science
- Advanced theoretical knowledge of specified scientific disciplines, related technologies, and methodologies
- Comprehensive understanding of social relevance and impact of science and technology, public attitudes, trends, and government policies
- Analytical and evaluative skills to determine scientific content
- Ability to research and develop new exhibit and program ideas
- Develop methods for translating scientific concepts into practical exhibits and programs
- Knowledge of the exhibit development process from idea to prototype to finished product
- Research skills to identify sources, field experts, and technology within the industry
- Represent the Ontario Science Centre in the scientific and academic communities
- Demonstrated excellent written and oral communication skills for complex scientific information
- Superior communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills for public, professional, and media presentations
- Proven team leadership skills
- Excellent teamwork and coordination skills
- Flexibility and sensitivity in relating to diverse audiences and levels of understanding of science and technology
We offer an estimated annual salary of $85,000 - $110,000 based on experience and qualifications, plus comprehensive benefits, including health and dental insurance, pension plan, and paid vacation time.
