Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated individual to join our team as a High School Learning Assistant Teacher. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a collaborative and inclusive environment, supporting students with diverse learning needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers to identify and program for students with diverse learning needs
  • Facilitate multi-disciplinary School Based Teams to support student learning and well-being
  • Develop and implement differentiated learning pedagogy to maximize student potential
  • Teach in a multi-grade class and integrate self-regulation and social-emotional care practices in the classroom
  • Work with Indigenous learners in a culturally diverse community and promote community involvement in school-based activities
Requirements
  • Bachelor of Education or equivalent with a specialization in Secondary Education and coursework in Special Education
  • Experience working with students with diverse learning needs and facilitating collaborative teams
  • Strong classroom management, planning, and organizational skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with parents, staff, and community partners
  • Knowledge of restorative practices, project-based learning, and on-the-land curriculum
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience teaching in a rural or remote community
  • Knowledge of Indigenous cultures and worldviews
  • Ability to communicate effectively with parents and caregivers
