Job Title: Engineering Manager - Steam Generators and Feeder Piping Systems

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Engineering Manager to join our team at Ontario Power Generation. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a team of engineers and technical officers tasked with the economic life cycle management of the CANDU Steam Generators and Feeder Piping systems.

The primary responsibilities of this role include providing fitness-for-service assurance in compliance with the License and applicable codes and standards, participating in long-range planning for asset management and company generation planning, and providing technical and consultative services to station/facility personnel, management, and other interested parties.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, a minimum of 6 years of management experience, and strong leadership skills. Previous experience in a Nuclear environment is an asset. The successful candidate will also have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and be able to work effectively in a fast-paced changing environment.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Manage a team of engineers and technical officers tasked with the economic life cycle management of the CANDU Steam Generators and Feeder Piping systems.
  • Provide fitness-for-service assurance in compliance with the License and applicable codes and standards.
  • Participate in long-range planning for asset management and company generation planning.
  • Provide technical and consultative services to station/facility personnel, management, and other interested parties.

Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering is required.
  • P. Eng License is considered an asset.

Qualifications:

  • Strong leadership skills with a minimum of 6 years of management experience required.
  • Previous experience in a Nuclear environment is an asset.
  • Ability to communicate strategically, effectively, and clearly with excellent oral and writing skills.
  • Demonstrated solid judgement with a strong business acumen with proven track records of achieving success while providing valued input to a management team.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced changing environment while effectively managing and adapting to ever-changing priorities.
  • Ability to effectively communicate to senior management and external stakeholders.
