Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Child Development Specialist to join our team at Follow The Child Daycare Centre.

About the Role

This is a full-time position responsible for creating and implementing engaging child-care programs that promote the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children. As a key member of our team, you will work closely with early childhood educators to design and deliver activities that cater to the diverse needs of our young learners.

Key Responsibilities
  • Program Development: Design and implement age-appropriate child-care programs that foster learning, creativity, and exploration in children aged 0-12 years.
  • Collaboration: Work effectively with colleagues to create cohesive program plans, share knowledge, and provide support to ensure high-quality services.
  • Child Assessment: Conduct regular assessments to identify individual children's strengths, weaknesses, and learning styles to inform program planning.
  • Caregiving: Provide direct care to infants and toddlers, including feeding, bathing, and toileting, as well as establishing routines for healthy development.
  • Safety and Security: Ensure a safe and secure environment for all children by maintaining a clean and organized space, adhering to health and safety protocols, and reporting incidents or concerns promptly.
  • Communication: Maintain open and respectful communication with parents/guardians through regular updates on their child's progress, sharing observations, and collaborating on strategies to support their child's growth.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you must have:

  • A diploma or degree in Early Childhood Education (ECE) or a related field;
  • A minimum of 7 months of experience working with children in a daycare setting;
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time effectively;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
  • Familiarity with ECE best practices, policies, and procedures.
Working Conditions

This position requires working in a fast-paced environment, interacting with children, parents, and staff daily. You will be expected to work collaboratively as part of a dynamic team, respond to changing situations, and maintain confidentiality when required.

Salary Range

$45,000 - $55,000 per year, depending on qualifications and experience.
