Job Summary

We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced academic professional to join our team as an Assistant Professor in Solid Earth Materials Science. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching, research, and service in the Department of Earth and Environmental Sciences.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teach a range of courses in mineralogy, petrology, and related fields to undergraduate and graduate students.
  • Develop and maintain an active research program in solid earth petrology, with a focus on experimental, theoretical, and field-based investigations.
  • Supervise and mentor students in research projects and academic pursuits.
  • Contribute to departmental and faculty service, including committee work and administrative tasks.
Requirements
  • PhD in Earth Sciences, Geology, or Environmental Sciences.
  • Postdoctoral experience and excellent teaching and research skills.
  • Bilingualism (English-French) is an asset.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Research experience in solid earth petrology, with a focus on igneous and metamorphic minerals and microstructures.
  • Experience with analytical laboratories and instrumentation.
  • Strong connections with industry and government agencies.
