Clinical Pharmacy Professional

We are seeking a skilled Clinical Pharmacy Professional to join our team at Nova Scotia Health.
Reporting to the Manager of Clinical Pharmacy Services, you will be responsible for ensuring safe and effective drug therapy by participating in and overseeing drug distribution systems (inpatient and outpatient), supervising pharmacy support staff and identifying and resolving drug-related problems.
Responsibilities- Provide clinical pharmacy services including drug regimen review, medication reconciliation, pharmacokinetic monitoring, individual and group patient medication teaching, drug information and educational programs.
- Work on selected medical services, participate in medical rounds, provide discharge medication calendars and counselling to patients and make therapeutic recommendations to the medical team.
You may also be required to participate in the orientation and training of Pharmacy Students and other hospital personnel.
RequirementsTo be successful in this role, you will need:
- Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy or an entry level Pharmacy Doctor of Pharmacy from a CCAPP (or similar standard) accredited university required.
- Completion of a Pharmacy Residency Program preferred.
- Licensed to practice Pharmacy in the Province of Nova Scotia.
- Minimum two years experience in clinical practice in a hospital pharmacy setting preferred.
- Strong knowledge of drugs and therapeutics.
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to make accurate and timely recommendations regarding safe and cost-effective use of drugs.
Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred.

Compensation and BenefitsThe annual salary for this position is approximately $96,521.40 based on 75 hours bi-weekly.
You may also be eligible for our benefits package which includes health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage as well as a defined benefit pension plan.
Successful candidates may also be eligible for up to $10,000 signing bonus and up to $5,000 of relocation assistance with a defined Return of Service contract.
