Supply Educational Assistant Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Supply Educational Assistant to join our team at the District School Board of Niagara. As a Supply EA, you will provide support to students with special education needs in a variety of settings, including classrooms and schools.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide individualized support to students with special education needs, including personal care, mobility, communication, and life skills.
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) and behavior intervention plans (BIPs).
  • Assist students with daily living skills, such as toileting, dressing, and feeding.
  • Provide emotional support and crisis intervention as needed.
  • Communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff to ensure a positive and inclusive learning environment.
Requirements:
  • Graduate of a College of Applied Arts & Technology in Educational Assistant - Special Needs Support or equivalent.
  • Proven experience working with students with special education needs, preferably in a school setting.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
