We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Supply Educational Assistant to join our team at the District School Board of Niagara. As a Supply EA, you will provide support to students with special education needs in a variety of settings, including classrooms and schools.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide individualized support to students with special education needs, including personal care, mobility, communication, and life skills.
- Collaborate with classroom teachers to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) and behavior intervention plans (BIPs).
- Assist students with daily living skills, such as toileting, dressing, and feeding.
- Provide emotional support and crisis intervention as needed.
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff to ensure a positive and inclusive learning environment.
- Graduate of a College of Applied Arts & Technology in Educational Assistant - Special Needs Support or equivalent.
- Proven experience working with students with special education needs, preferably in a school setting.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
- A competitive rate of pay: $170.13 per day (including 4% vacation pay).
