About the Role
CBI Home Health is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Team Lead to join our team. As a Team Lead, you will play a vital role in ensuring the support needs of individuals residing in our homes are met or exceeded.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead by example in a collaborative and team-oriented environment, providing guidance and support to staff members to ensure they feel valued, motivated, and committed to excellence.
- Build strong relationships with supported individuals, their families, and healthcare professionals to gain a deep understanding of their needs and preferences.
- Coach and monitor staff to ensure they understand all aspects of care, individual support plans, and behavioral support plans.
- Support the Clinical and Operational teams in developing meal and recreation plans, ensuring adherence to established protocols.
- Assist in providing orientation to new staff to ensure continuity of support and care for individuals.
- Take inventory and order approved household supplies and goods.
- Complete weekly, monthly, and quarterly progress reports and submit to the Operations Manager and Clinical Team.
- Perform day-to-day audits of documentation to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Identify trends and escalate issues accordingly to ensure a healthy and safe environment for all supported individuals and employees.
- Responsible for creating staff schedules and ensuring accurate timekeeping.
- Collaborate with the Operations Manager to maintain individual and household budgets.
Requirements
- Minimum one year of experience working with individuals with complex cognitive behavioral challenges.
- Prior supervisory experience in this field is essential.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Valid Certification in Emergency First Aid and CPR.
- Clear Criminal Record Check, Adult and Child Abuse registry check valid in the last 3 months.
- Minimum Grade Twelve education, preferably post-secondary, Developmental Service Worker Certificate, or a combination of related education/experience.
- Possess a working knowledge of Residential Care Licensing, funder, and Labour guidelines.
- Strong knowledge and demonstration of the guidelines of the Vulnerable Person's Act (VPA).
- Certification in Non-Violent Crisis Intervention.
- Above-average communication skills, organizational skills, and the ability to work effectively within a team environment.
- Level 6 English (CLB).
- Ability to foster a team approach within the home.
- Ability to work a variety of shifts, including weekends.
- Ability to travel within the community - Valid Driver's license and insurance required.
