Purchasing Clerk Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Purchasing Clerk to join our team at Galaxy Home Furnishing Corp. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing routine clerical duties, picking up and delivering materials, preparing price quotations, and calculating costs of orders.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform routine clerical duties, including data entry and record-keeping.
  • Pick up and deliver materials, ensuring timely and accurate delivery.
  • Prepare price quotations, taking into account various factors such as cost, quality, and availability.
  • Calculate costs of orders, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
  • Prepare and maintain purchasing files, reports, and records, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Prepare purchase orders, ensuring timely and accurate processing.
  • Process purchases, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Review requisition orders for accuracy, ensuring timely and accurate processing.
  • Verify stock availability from current inventories, ensuring timely and accurate delivery.
  • Compile inventory reports, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
  • Monitor inventory levels of issued materials and stocks, ensuring timely and accurate replenishment.
  • Prepare requisition orders to replenish stock, ensuring timely and accurate delivery.
  • Record the quantity, type, and value of stock on hand using computerized or manual inventory system, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
  • Verify receipts and packing slips, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
Requirements:
  • 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in purchasing or a related field.
  • High school graduation certificate or equivalent.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to work effectively with colleagues and vendors.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
Working Conditions:
  • Work is performed in a fast-paced office environment, with frequent interruptions and deadlines.
  • May require occasional travel to vendor sites or other locations, with ability to work in a variety of environments.
