Purchasing Clerk Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Purchasing Clerk to join our team at Galaxy Home Furnishing Corp. As a Purchasing Clerk, you will be responsible for performing routine clerical duties, picking up and delivering materials, preparing price quotations, and calculating costs of orders.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform routine clerical duties, including data entry and record-keeping.
  • Pick up and deliver materials, ensuring timely and accurate delivery.
  • Prepare price quotations and calculate costs of orders, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Prepare and maintain purchasing files, reports, and records, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Process purchases, including verifying receipts and packing slips.
  • Review requisition orders for accuracy and verify stock availability from current inventories.
  • Compile inventory reports and monitor inventory levels of issued materials and stocks.
  • Prepare requisition orders to replenish stock and record the quantity, type, and value of stock on hand using computerized or manual inventory system.
Requirements:
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in purchasing or a related field.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, including Word and Excel.
