Job Title: Facilities Maintenance Technician

Bruce Automotive Group is seeking a skilled and versatile Maintenance Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a broad range of maintenance and repair skills, demonstrating proficiency in various trades such as carpentry, plumbing, electrical work, painting, and general maintenance.

Responsibilities:
  • Perform a variety of semi-skilled and skilled maintenance, repair, and minor construction work of company facilities involving plumbing, carpentry, HVAC, electrical, remodelling, painting, and a variety of other craft work.
  • Conduct electrical repairs and installations, including troubleshooting and repairing outlets, switches, and light fixtures.
  • Installs, maintains and repairs a variety of plumbing fixtures and fittings including sinks, toilets, faucets, and related equipment; repair leaks and stoppages.
  • Perform general maintenance duties inside and outside of facilities; install and repair masonry including concrete, brick, stucco, plaster, and tile; performs maintenance painting including application of paints, varnishes, and lacquers.
  • Maintain an organised inventory of tools, equipment, and supplies, ensuring everything is in good working condition.
  • Knowledgeable in use of computerised Facility Asset Management software and its application.
  • Repair or replace damaged drywall, tiles, or flooring materials as needed.
  • Handle basic HVAC maintenance tasks, such as changing filters and cleaning ducts.
  • Troubleshoot and repair appliances, including refrigerators and dishwashers.
  • Perform outdoor maintenance duties such as gutter cleaning and siding repairs.
  • Respond promptly to maintenance requests through an online request system, addressing issues in a timely manner.
  • Maintain an organised inventory of tools, equipment, and supplies, ensuring everything is in good working condition.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and regulations while performing tasks, minimising risks and hazards in the workplace.
  • Collaborate with Facilities Project Manager as needed to complete larger projects or specialised tasks.
  • Keep accurate records of work performed, materials used, and hours worked, providing regular updates to the Facilities Project Manager as required.
Qualifications:
  • Proven experience as a Maintenance Technician or similar role, with a demonstrated track record of successful maintenance and repair projects.
  • Proficiency in a variety of trades, including carpentry, plumbing, electrical work, painting, and general maintenance.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot issues effectively.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally with employees and management of the Group.
  • Physical stamina and dexterity to perform manual labour and lift heavy objects as required.
  • Valid drivers licence and clean drivers abstract.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional certifications or vocational training in relevant trades is a plus.
