You will work alongside two other comprehensive Ophthalmologists in a busy, private, fee-for-service clinic, providing general ophthalmic care for medical glaucoma and retina, cornea, uveitis, low vision, lids, and cataracts. Interest or additional training in glaucoma and/or oculoplastics would be an asset.

Our clinic is a 6,000 sq. ft. ambulatory care facility with seven lanes and a minor procedure room equipped with state-of-the-art technology, including Zeiss Cirrus OCT, Canon retinal camera, Optos, A- and B-Scans, IOL Master, specular microscope, topographer, Humphrey and Goldmann visual field machines, and Argon, SLT, and YAG lasers.

You will have access to one full day per week of OR time at a local community hospital, as well as additional minor procedure time at Valley Regional Hospital. The Nova Scotia Eye Centre in Halifax provides excellent and extensive sub-specialty care, and teaching opportunities exist at the NSEC.

As a strong team player, you will be accountable to the patient population in the Western Zone, providing clinics and occasional satellite clinics. You will be responsible to the Zone Surgery Department Head for your professional responsibilities and quality of practice.

We offer a competitive compensation package and a fixed percentage of billings as overhead structure.

* Work as a full scope of practice Ophthalmologist to provide care to patients in the Western Zone
* Support the Nova Scotia Health Authority in advancing the delivery of specialty care
* Provide consultation support to the Western Zone
* Be accountable to the patient population in the Western Zone
* Be responsible to the Zone Surgery Department Head for your professional responsibilities and quality of practice

Expected Hours:

* Full-time with one full operating room day per week

Qualifications:

* Eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Nova Scotia
* Certified with the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada
* Membership with the Canadian Medical Protective Association
