Job Title: Community Mental Health Worker

Prairie Mountain Health is seeking a skilled and compassionate Community Mental Health Worker to join our team. As a Community Mental Health Worker, you will play a vital role in providing mental health services to individuals and communities in need.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide mental health services to individuals and communities, including assessment, counseling, and crisis intervention.
  • Work collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams, community agencies, and stakeholders to ensure comprehensive care.
  • Develop and implement evidence-informed interventions to promote recovery-oriented practice and Co-occurring Disorder (COD) principles.
  • Maintain accurate records and reports, and participate in quality improvement initiatives.
  • Stay up-to-date with current mental health trends, leading practices, and relevant legislation.
Requirements:
  • Baccalaureate degree in Psychiatric Nursing or Social Work, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Current registration/licensure in good standing with applicable college.
  • Current certification in Non-Violent Crisis Intervention and Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST).
  • Two years of full-time equivalent professional experience in an approved Mental Health Care setting in the past five years.
  • Province of Manitoba Class 5 Drivers License, or equivalent from province of residence, and access to a personal vehicle to provide service within Prairie Mountain Health.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Proficiency with Microsoft programs (Outlook, Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint), as well as Internet applications and other Information Technology.
  • Demonstrated leadership and written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritize in a changing environment and display independent judgment.
