Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Payroll Specialist to join our team in Edmonton. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced professional to work with a reputable organization in the professional services industry.

About the Role

  • As a Payroll Specialist, you will be responsible for payroll processing and compliance, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and adherence to regulatory requirements.
  • You will oversee payroll processing, utilizing the Dayforce system for management, reporting, and record maintenance.
  • Staying up-to-date on regulatory changes affecting payroll and pension practices is crucial, ensuring all processes comply with current laws.
  • The ideal candidate will hold a PCP (Payroll Compliance Practitioner) designation and adhere to industry standards and best practices.
  • You will develop and implement strategies to optimize payroll processes, collaborate with the organization to streamline operations, enhance efficiency, and ensure alignment with organizational goals.
  • Maintaining and updating payroll information, including employee records, tax filings, and benefits deductions, is essential.
  • You will prepare and analyze payroll reports using insights to recommend process improvements.
  • Managing and optimizing the Dayforce payroll system, integrating it with other HR and accounting systems as needed, is a key responsibility.
  • The successful candidate will identify opportunities for process automation and system enhancements.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 5-8 years of hands-on experience in payroll administration roles.
  • Possession of PCP (Payroll Compliance Practitioner) designation is mandatory.
  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, Accounting, or a related field is an asset.
  • Expertise in using Dayforce software for payroll administration is a bonus.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Proven ability to handle confidential information with integrity.
