Courseware Project Manager

About This Role

The team at CAE is seeking a seasoned Project Manager responsible for the life-cycle of training programs, courseware content, and projects to ensure compliance, innovation, and perpetual improvement based on business unit and corporate needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the definition of market needs and competitive landscape analysis.
  • Collaborate with the Sales team to develop internal and external proposals.
  • Contribute to the courseware roadmap and product management.

Project Execution

  • Manage projects for the development of civil courseware material for use in the aviation industry.
  • Work with diverse project teams composed of Instructional System Designers (ISD), Courseware Developers (CWD), Multimedia Developers (MMD), and Subject Matter Experts (SME) to design and deliver global training course material for Instructor Led Training (ILT) and Computer-Based Training (CBT).
  • Manage human, financial, and operational resources necessary to meet contractual and company-related obligations of the project to ensure profitability.
  • Own the entire project lifecycle from initiation, through planning, design, build, test, implementation, and closure.
  • Create project charter, project management plan, schedule, risk assessment/mitigation plans, and other plans as needed.
  • Resolve project work/scheduling problems by reprioritizing activities.
  • Maintain and communicate project status reports, project plans, and issues.
  • Provide reporting throughout the project life cycle, including project management reviews (PMR).

Leadership

  • Act as primary liaison with customers on project matters, including negotiations and securing customer acceptance.
  • Discuss alternative solutions with customers, including contractual changes.
  • Deliver results that achieve lasting satisfaction with customers and achieve financial goals.
  • Recommend and participate in improvement initiatives.
  • Ability to resolve difficult, complex, or unusual matters or decisions.
  • Provide training and mentoring to junior Project Managers.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 6 to 8 years' project management experience, with aviation project management experience being a plus.
  • Strong communication skills in English (written and spoken), strong interpersonal skills.
  • Experience working with global and multi-cultural teams.
  • Experience developing strong customer relationships and managing customer expectations.
