Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Animal Care Assistant - Equine to join our team at the Centre hospitalier universitaire vétérinaire de l'Université de Montréal. As an Animal Care Assistant - Equine, you will be responsible for providing exceptional care and attention to our equine patients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Transport, prepare and distribute food to the animals;
  • Ensure the safe handling, restraint and movement of horses;
  • Clean and disinfect stalls and equipment;
  • Monitor the health and well-being of the animals and report any concerns to the relevant staff member.

Requirements

  • Diploma of Secondary Education (DES) completed;
  • One year of relevant full-time work experience with horses (e.g. stable hand, trainer, instructor, farrier, handling foals and stallions, etc.);
  • Valid driver's license;
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively;
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Competitive hourly rate of $23.36 to $28.72, depending on experience;
