Executive Director – Governor General Performing Arts Awards Foundation

The National Arts Centre is seeking an experienced and skilled Executive Director to lead the Governor General Performing Arts Awards Foundation. This is a unique opportunity to work with a prestigious organization that celebrates excellence in the performing arts.
Key Responsibilities- Manage the nomination and jury process for the Governor General Performing Arts Awards, including jury selection, preparation, and distribution of materials.
- Chair the selection committee and evaluate nominees to select the shortlist.
- Oversee the recipient announcement, including contacting recipients, managing stakeholder input, and writing the press release.
- Deliver a series of high-profile events to honour Canadian artists and welcome public office holders and guests.
- Manage the affairs of the Foundation, including preparing the annual budget, overseeing audit, and assuming administrative responsibilities.
- Provide counsel and guidance to the GGPAA Board and committees.
- Conduct post-event evaluations to assess successes and challenges and refine planning for future events.
- Cultivate and nurture relationships with external partners to enhance communication.
- Proven track record in managing project and logistics planning of large-scale high-profile events.
- Demonstrated success in managing relationships with external stakeholders, including private and public agencies, high-profile national public figures, and artists.
- Ability to resolve urgent, confidential, and sensitive issues and manage multiple and changing priorities and demands.
- Strong written and verbal skills, with fluency in French and English.
- Knowledge of fundraising and stewardship practices, with experience in achieving results in large-scale, high-profile event planning in a multi-stakeholder/not-for-profit environment.
- Leadership skills in building and managing teams.
This opportunity has a salary range from $80,000 to $100,000 and four (4) weeks of annual leave. There are no medical benefits or pension provisions available with this position.
