Job Summary

Fort McKay Group of Companies LP is seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Operator to join our team at the Kearl Oil Sands Site. As a Dozer Operator, you will play a critical role in assisting the Project Team Lead and General Foreman in achieving project goals and objectives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate and maintain dozers in a safe and efficient manner to meet operational deadlines.
  • Regulate the height and angle of the blade to ensure optimal performance.
  • Perform pre-trip, post-trip, and walk-around inspections to ensure equipment is in good working condition.
  • Operate dozers on various surfaces to raise or lower terrain, perform reclamation, ditching, sloping, levelling, ripping, pushing piles, and clean up support for soil, rock, or other debris.
  • Operate dozers in close proximity to other vehicles, ground personnel, and utilities while maintaining a safe working environment.
  • Maintain equipment, report any maintenance required, and adhere to all Fort McKay Group of Companies policies and procedures.
  • Reliably show up for work fit for duty, complete Field Level Hazard Assessments, and control hazards related to the scope of work.
  • Assist Labourers or other Operators as needed and perform any related and/or additional construction duties assigned.
Requirements
  • Completion of a High School Diploma or GED equivalent is required.
  • Retention of a valid Class 5 driver's license is required.
  • 3-year Drivers Abstract is required.
  • Must have experience with D8 to D10 dozers.
  • CSTS and OSSA or BSO or CSO is required.
  • Ability to speak, write, and read English is required.
