Job Overview

Air Canada is seeking a highly skilled Senior Financial Services Expert to join its team. As a key member of the Commercial branch, this individual will play a crucial role in supporting the airline's business objectives and driving sustained profitability.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain effective financial management processes and controls that align with company policies and requirements.
  • Provide financial support to Corporate Business Units, facilitating the ongoing management of their business activities.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for issues related to billings and payments.
  • Review and challenge invoices, liaising with both internal and external clients to resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
  • Foster positive relationships with Air Canada branches, balancing financial control, advisory, and support roles.
  • Assist clients with various financial aspects of the management control process, including month-end accruals, invoice validation, tracking, and processing assistance.
  • Offer financial guidance and support to business unit managers in developing strategies to meet or exceed financial goals, including revenue enhancement and cost reduction initiatives.
  • Maintain accurate records of monthly operating expenses, producing monthly and ad hoc expense reports to enhance expense and budget management.
  • Contribute to the analysis of financial performance across business units.
  • Evaluate cost and value comparisons for new projects or contracts, utilizing internal and external data to improve financial performance.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance and/or Accounting.
  • CPA designation (in progress or completed) is a preferred asset.
  • Strong analytical skills and self-motivation.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of financial analysis techniques and accounting cycles.
  • Experience with airline operations is an asset.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and ability to learn financial software applications.
  • Results-driven with excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
Compensation

The estimated salary range for this position is between $80,000 to $110,000 per annum, depending on qualifications and experience.
