Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Operator to join our team at Hall Constructors. As a Heavy Equipment Operator, you will be responsible for operating various types of heavy machinery safely and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate heavy equipment such as excavators, dozers, rollers, loaders, skidsteers, and rock trucks in accordance with safety practices and procedures.
  • Perform daily pretrip inspections and maintenance checks on equipment and report any defects or needed repairs to the supervisor.
  • Complete daily hazard assessments and identify controls.
  • Follow proper start-up and shutdown procedures.
  • Collaborate with ground personnel and other operators to ensure safe and efficient task completion.
  • Participate in daily toolbox meetings and complete role-specific training.
  • Assist in site preparation, including clearing, excavation, grading, and backfilling as per project needs.
  • Communicate effectively with the team to coordinate operations and minimize disruptions.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 2 years of experience as a Heavy Equipment Operator.
  • High School or Equivalent education.
  • Considered an asset: GPS & Grade Control experience, Ground Disturbance Lv. 2, Rigging, First Aid.

Technical Skills:

  • Ability to operate with precision, efficiency, and safety.
  • Ability to perform routine maintenance and simple repairs on equipment.
  • Blind spot and spatial awareness.
  • Understanding of load stability and limitations of machine.
  • Understanding of site layout, grading plans, and excavation requirements.
  • Ability to read and understand project drawings and specifications.
  • Ability to work around utilities (buried & overhead).

  • Ability to remain focused and productive in a high-pressure environment.
  • Problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to changing job site conditions.
