Drywall Specialist

About the Role
We are seeking a skilled Drywall Specialist/Painter to join our team at On Side Restoration. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in helping us deliver exceptional restoration services to our clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Measure, cut, and install drywall sheets with precision and attention to detail
- Tear out old or damaged drywall, ensuring a smooth and safe working environment
- Cut and install metal corner beads to protect exterior corners, maintaining a high level of quality
- Fill joints, nail indentations, holes, and cracks using a trowel and broad knife, achieving a seamless finish
- Tape and embed joints, ensuring a strong and durable bond
- Texture all types of surfaces, delivering a professional finish
- Prepare and protect work sites, ensuring a safe and efficient working environment
Painter Responsibilities
- Estimate material quantities by measuring surfaces, reviewing scopes, sketches, and work orders
- Remove old coatings using solvents, heat, sanding, wire brushing, or water and abrasive blasting
- Prepare surfaces for covering by cleaning, filling nail holes and cracks, and sanding rough spots
- Apply undercoat primers or sealers before painting, or apply sizing before wallpapering
- Match specified colors by using premixed paints or mixing color and thinning and drying additives
- Apply liquid coatings such as paint, stain, or varnish to surfaces using brushes, rollers, or spray guns
- Apply finishes that are sponged, ragged, and layered
- Apply paper, vinyl, or natural and synthetic fabric wallcoverings

- Experience working in construction environments with tools and skills to use them
- Strong people and communication skills
- Attention to detail, passion for quality, and pride in work
- A safety mindset
- Valid driver's license and clean criminal record
- Ability to communicate in English
