About the Role

The Operations Manager at FedEx Supply Chain will oversee the safe execution of daily operational plans and strategies, ensuring compliance with key processes while achieving safety, quality, efficiency, and financial KPIs. This position is responsible for product safety, quality, and legality, with a focus on safe and efficient operations.

This role is for the day shift and is located in Richmond, BC.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage at least 2 full-time exempt direct reports, including hiring, coaching, skills development, recognition, and rewards, staff productivity, and performance management.
  • Direct the operational aspects of the facility, including knowing and evaluating operational productivity goals, monitoring daily performance, and ensuring goals are achieved on all shifts.
  • Ensure the Company teammate culture is being fostered in the facility and that the attainment of facility production, quality, and safety objectives is assured.
  • Review and assure the accuracy of required production and inventory reports, coordinate and conform to the operational aspects of the Company's Core Excellence Program, and audit regularly to ensure full compliance.
  • Plan, monitor, and manage actual performance against operational portions of the budget, including proper management of departmental staffing levels, overtime, and overall operational headcount.
  • Implement process improvement programs utilizing Quality Driven Management methodologies and provide assistance to the General Manager on special projects as required.
  • Identify and coordinate daily activities of 40-100 team members, inspire your team to achieve desired results in productivity, teamwork, safety, quality, and job knowledge, and collaborate across departments to drive optimal productivity.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Logistics, Industrial Engineering, or other related operations discipline is preferred, or military rank at E-6-7/O-2-O3.
  • A minimum of three years of supervisory experience, preferably in a logistics environment responsible for WMS, QDM, LMS, P&L, and talent management.
  • Demonstrated leadership qualities with the ability to lead other leaders, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to prioritize.
  • Experience with Six Sigma or quality management methodologies and/or Green Belt certification is preferred.
  • Strong analytical skills and previous team building experience are also preferred.

Physical and Cognitive Requirements

  • Ability to follow policies and procedures, read, write, and interpret information, add, subtract, multiply, and divide.
  • Ability to use hands to manipulate, handle, or feel, sit, walk, stand for up to 10 hours per day, and intermittently crawl, squat, climb, twist, bend, stoop, push, or pull.
  • Must possess visual acuity, including close, distance, and color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Ability to lift and carry items less than 40 pounds.
