We are seeking a highly skilled Strategic Communications Specialist to join our team at Nova Scotia Health and IWK Health. As a key member of our Communications, Engagement and Marketing team, you will play a critical role in advancing relationships with our staff, physicians, and patients.
The successful candidate will collaborate with various groups throughout the organization to provide expert communications and engagement advice. This will involve planning, implementing, and evaluating communication and engagement activities that build and strengthen our response to issues, challenges, and opportunities.
You will work closely with our team to develop and execute strategies that bridge the gap between Nova Scotia Health and IWK Health and our patients, staff, physicians, medical learners, volunteers, system partners, and interest holders.
About YouWe are looking for a highly motivated and experienced professional with a strong background in communications, marketing, or engagement. The ideal candidate will possess:
- An undergraduate degree and/or post-secondary study in marketing, advertising, digital communications, public relations, journalism, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- A minimum of three years' relevant experience in the communications, marketing, or engagement sector.
- Knowledge of best practice related to corporate communications, engagement, public relations, media relations, crisis communications.
- Exceptional skills in preparing web, social media, and online engagement strategies with demonstrated success in developing effective content and engaging audiences.
- Demonstrated success in desktop publishing and basic layout design.
- Strategic and system-focused thinking; strong analysis and decision-making skills.
- Strong communication, presentation, and organizational skills.
- Ability to support internal and external collaborative relationships.
- Experience managing public relations issues and in reputation management.
- Computer proficiency, interest, and ability to work within social media.
- Ability to manage projects, delivering on budget and on time.
- Permanent, temporary, and casual relief positions

- $40.22/Hourly
