Job OverviewWe are seeking an experienced Home-Based Family Support Specialist to join our team. As an Independent Contractor, you will work collaboratively with a dedicated team to provide goal-focused services in Foster Homes and the community.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and maintain effective communication with the collaborative team
- Provide scheduled, goal-oriented services to families and individuals, including transporting children/youth as needed
- Create and implement engaging, goal-focused activities for clients
- Conduct regular case notes, reports, and administrative tasks
- Certificate, diploma, or degree in a social service discipline from a recognized institution
- Proven experience working with children/youth and/or families with diverse needs
- Current Verbal De-escalation Certification (e.g. CIT, NCI, TCI, UMAB) with crisis prevention experience required
- Current CPR/First Aid certification
- Knowledge of FASD, ODD, autism, ADHD, anxiety disorders, and other diagnoses is an asset
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, along with strong organizational, administrative, and report-writing abilities
- Current Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Check
- Current Child Welfare Record Check
- Driver's Abstract and Class "G" Driver's License
- Access to an insured vehicle with $2 million liability insurance
- A computer and personal email address
The estimated annual salary for this position is between $65,000 - $90,000, depending on qualifications and experience. This role offers a competitive compensation package, reflecting the importance of your contributions to our team.
