Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Home-Based Family Support Specialist to join our team. As an Independent Contractor, you will work collaboratively with a dedicated team to provide goal-focused services in Foster Homes and the community.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain effective communication with the collaborative team
  • Provide scheduled, goal-oriented services to families and individuals, including transporting children/youth as needed
  • Create and implement engaging, goal-focused activities for clients
  • Conduct regular case notes, reports, and administrative tasks
Requirements
  • Certificate, diploma, or degree in a social service discipline from a recognized institution
  • Proven experience working with children/youth and/or families with diverse needs
  • Current Verbal De-escalation Certification (e.g. CIT, NCI, TCI, UMAB) with crisis prevention experience required
  • Current CPR/First Aid certification
  • Knowledge of FASD, ODD, autism, ADHD, anxiety disorders, and other diagnoses is an asset
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, along with strong organizational, administrative, and report-writing abilities
Essential Qualifications
  • Current Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Check
  • Current Child Welfare Record Check
  • Driver's Abstract and Class "G" Driver's License
  • Access to an insured vehicle with $2 million liability insurance
  • A computer and personal email address
Salary and Benefits

The estimated annual salary for this position is between $65,000 - $90,000, depending on qualifications and experience. This role offers a competitive compensation package, reflecting the importance of your contributions to our team.
