Job Summary

Shared Health is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Forensic Mental Health Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our Mental Health and Addictions program, you will play a critical role in providing services to individuals experiencing mental health disorders and who have been found unfit to stand trial or not criminally responsible.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide a range of services to clients, including assessment, treatment, and support, to promote their health and well-being.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals, social services, and community organizations to develop and implement comprehensive care plans.
  • Conduct assessments and develop treatment plans to address the complex needs of clients.
  • Provide education and training to clients, families, and community workers on mental health and addiction issues.
  • Participate in quality improvement activities and best practices to enhance the delivery of services.
Requirements
  • Minimum of four years' experience in community mental health.
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field, such as social work, psychology, or nursing.
  • Licensure or registration as a mental health professional.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable vehicle.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the bio/psycho/social model of mental illness and recovery.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Effective networking and agency relations skills.
  • Working knowledge of the forensic and criminal justice systems.
Physical Requirements
  • May require evening and weekend work.
