Job Title: Construction Estimator

We are seeking a skilled Construction Estimator to join our team at 2484167 ONTARIO INC. as a key member of our estimating department.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate and detailed estimates of labour and material costs for construction projects. This will involve reading blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine work requirements, operating CADD and other computer software systems, and preparing estimates for general expenses and overheads.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Prepare estimates of labour and material costs for construction projects
  2. Read blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine work requirements
  3. Operate CADD and other computer software systems
  4. Prepare estimates for general expenses and overheads
  5. Project cash flow and financing requirements
  6. Prepare and submit estimate reports, quote sheets, and bid forms
  7. Utilize quantity take-off procedures
  8. Advise on tendering procedures
  9. Analyze tenders and recommend awards
  10. Set up cost monitoring and reporting systems
  11. Monitor and adjust contract expenditures
  12. Prepare and maintain directory of supplies and trade contractors
  13. Liaise, consult, and communicate with engineers, architects, owners, contractors, and subcontractors on changes and adjustments to cost estimates
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field
  • Experience in estimating or a related field
  • Proficiency in CADD and other computer software systems
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
