Assistant Store Manager Job Description

VG Meats is seeking a highly skilled and organized Assistant Store Manager to oversee the daily operations of our retail location in Simcoe, ON.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Store Operations: Ensure the smooth day-to-day operation of the store, including managing inventory, scheduling, and labor hours.
  • Meat Department Management: Lead the production team, including meat cutters, prepared foods cooks, and dishwashers, to maintain high-quality products and excellent customer service.
  • Inventory Control: Monitor and control inventory levels, ensuring proper stock rotation and minimizing waste.
  • Customer Service: Provide exceptional customer service, responding to customer inquiries and resolving issues in a timely and professional manner.
  • Team Management: Supervise and develop a team of retail staff, providing guidance and support to ensure excellent customer service and store performance.
Requirements:
  • Education: Butcher apprentice or diploma in culinary arts preferred.
  • Experience: 4+ years of experience cutting meat in a retail or processing environment required.
  • Skills: Functional knowledge of retail or food merchandising, operations, and retail management practices and procedures; people supervisory/management experience required.
  • Certifications: Valid Food Handler's and First Aid Certifications an asset.
