Sawmill Operations Manager

Job OpportunityWe are seeking a Sawmill Shift Supervisor to join our team in Mitsue Industrial Park. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for supervising employees in a multi-trade environment to ensure high levels of maintenance and uptime in all areas of the sawmill.
Key Responsibilities- Supervise employees to ensure safe and efficient completion of assigned work
- Conduct daily mill inspections to monitor equipment condition and coordinate repairs
- Make recommendations to improve equipment reliability and cost-saving measures
- Investigate accidents and incidents, and make recommendations for equipment redesign
- Assist with major equipment overhauls and maintenance shutdowns
- Address scheduling issues and conflicts, and complete employee time sheets
- Grade 12 or equivalent
- Minimum 10 years' experience in the lumber industry, with 3 years' experience in sawmills
- Minimum 5 years' supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment
- Mechanical aptitude and millwright experience are assets
- Proficient written and verbal communication skills, and basic computer skills
