Contract and part-time employees are also employed in maintenance, transportation, and seasonal activities.

**The Opportunity**

We are currently looking to hire a **Sawmill Shift Supervisor **for our manufacturing facilities in Mitsue Industrial Park. Job duties include:

- Supervising employees in a multi-trade environment to provide a high level of maintenance and uptime in all areas of the sawmill
- Ensuring that assigned work is completed in a safe and efficient manner, ensuring proper job and safety procedures are followed
- Conducting daily mill inspections to monitor the condition of mill equipment / machinery and coordinates repairs and/or replacement of parts with the Maintenance Supervisor
- Making recommendations to improve equipment reliability and cost saving measures
- Investigating any accidents or incidents involving plant equipment and makes recommendations for equipment and/or procedure redesign to prevent future accidents and/or incidents
- Assisting in major equipment overhauls and maintenance shutdowns
- Addressing scheduling issues and conflicts; completes employee time sheets for proper pay
- Performing other duties as assigned by the Operations Manager

Working Conditions:

- Exposed to noise, dust, falling debris, moving machinery, weather extremes, splinters, slipping and tripping hazards
- Lifting heavy, awkward objects and climbing on equipment is frequently required
- Required use of PPE appropriate for the task and working conditions

Must have:

- A solid work ethic, be eager to learn, and be a team player
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in the lumber industry; 3 years’ experience in sawmills
- Grade 12 or equivalent
- A mechanical aptitude; millwright experience is an asset
- Proficient written and verbal communication skills
- Basic computer skills and experience using Microsoft Office
- Experience managing crews efficiently
