Distribution Specialist

Job Summary
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Office Administrator / Distribution to join our team in Edmonton, Alberta. As a key member of our logistics team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth flow of goods and information within our organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Takes care of Plant reception for visitors and truck drivers;
- Works closely with Order Desk personnel to define shipping requirements and delivery specifications;
- Plans delivery and pick up schedules;
- Communicates with customers and carriers for effective product delivery;
- Arranges shipments by checking stock and anticipating delivery requirements;
- Coordinates shipments with forklift operators to ensure accurate and efficient loads;
- Checks-in drivers and processes BOLS, customs, and reconciles quantities and notes discrepancies;
- Schedules and manages inbound deliveries to plant and off-site warehouse;
- Keeps internal and external customers informed by forwarding notice of item availability, shipment date, method, current status, and answering questions;
- Ensures company and carrier information is kept confidential;
- Takes care of data entry for received goods and production entries;
- Handles cycle counts of raw materials;
- Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities;
- Accomplishes organization goals by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests;
- Explores opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years experience in a Office administrator role / Distribution (or equivalent);
- High School Diploma;
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment;
- Exceptional documentation skills and attention to detail (data entry);
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills;
- Demonstrated Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint competence;
- Above-average organizational and strategic planning skills;
- Willingness to collaborate, communicate, and take direction on an ongoing basis.
